Planning for next year
I have been fortunate to acquire a few more hive boxes. They may be second hand but after a coat of paint are good enough for a modest expansion. Also the smaller hive boxes nucs in English or ruchettes in French) are for rearing new queens next spring to make up for my losses. I have already painted them and am now ready to spring into action as soon as the weather gets warmer, most probably in March, after the mimosa has flowered. I am using some new colours to paint my hives. Yellow and blue have been added to grey in attempt to have some Provençal variety.
